Key Information
CPT Basic Required Information
Indiana Wesleyan University supports Day-1 CPT for transfer F-1 students. To apply for CPT, students must submit the Employer Cooperative Form with employer signature by the published deadline (at least one week before the program start date). All F-1 students are required to enroll in a 3-credit CPT course (UNV-501) each semester, which costs $400 per term. CPT is approved for one year at a time and can be renewed seamlessly. If you change employers or positions, you must notify the school and submit a new CPT request. CPT may be suspended if you fail to attend required in-person classes or if your GPA falls below 3.0.
Application Process
Once admitted, students will be contacted by their assigned advisor via email, who will provide detailed instructions for CPT application. Students must obtain a CPT-authorized I-20 before beginning employment. The job offer letter must be on official company letterhead, include an original signature from an authorized company representative, and be dated within the last 6 months. It must also include a detailed job description explaining the role and responsibilities, which must be directly related to the studentβs program of study.
